Ready for a New Year
I managed to complete another 52 week project and I think I did challenge myself this year. For the first time ever, people paid me money to take their picture....and it felt good. I know I have so much more to learn and I'm not quite ready to make this photography hobby a business but I love it and I want to keep getting better at it. My main goal for 2013 is to take an online photography class. There is one I've been debating and I'm just going to get off my butt and do it. And I'll try to find a new challenge for the coming year too. Maybe stick with the place I found last year's challenge. And even if I don't do a challenge, there will be pictures taken of those daily moments in my life because those little moments frozen in time are why I continue to pick up my camera.
I don't know quite how to sum up 2012. It had a really rough start with the death of my grandpa and a really emotional and difficult end. I can't say that I'm sad to see 2012 go but there was good too. I made some really good friends, took an amazing trip with my family to France and checked something off my bucket list with my trip to Albuquerque to see the Balloon Fiesta. For some reason life has to throw you these difficult moments just when you think life is going good. I wish it didn't but as I grow older I realize that at some point, maybe not when that bad thing is happening, but later when it stops hurting that you realize that happened for a reason. To make you stronger or to make you stop and appreciate what you do have in life. My personal resolution for the new year is try to enjoy every moment while it's happening. To stop trying to plan a life and just let it happen. It's going to be a hard one for me but I'm going to try.
