August 15-21: Boo Boo
Joslyn got her first skinned knee. It was bound to happen sooner or later now that she's walking around everywhere. She was chasing after Abby and fell on the concrete. I had a proud mommy moment when I saw how she reacted to it. She fell, didn't cry, got right back up and started chasing Abby again. And I thought for the first time that maybe John and I had a hand in how she reacted in that moment. From the beginning, we didn't run to her every time she stumbled or fell. We didn't react or go "oh no". We don't want her to cry every time she takes a stumble. We want her to know she's fine and she can get up and start moving again because life is about how you handle those little stumbles. If this skinned knee is any indication, my girl will be just fine in the big bad world and I couldn't be prouder of my little miss independent.

Good job Mama! We react the same way when our kids fall, we never rush to them, or panic, because then it teaches them to freak out. I love that my girls fall down and just hop right back up, even if they're bleeding. When they cry I know they're actually hurt. :)
