This parenting gig is a whole lot easier when you have a true partner in the battle, not just someone around for the good times, but someone who gets in there and gets their hands dirty too. From the moment Jos was born, John had to learn to be a dad fast. I couldn't move from the bed so he had to change every diaper (his 1st ever diaper!), learn how to swaddle and wake up for every feeding. I knew he would be a good dad, it's one of the reasons why I married him, but I didn't know how good until that first day. He nurtures Jos in every way that is important, and more. I get bored after 10 minutes of playing with her but he will play with her for hours. And "camp" with her before going to work in the morning, after coming home from a long day and any other time she asks.
