April 11-17: Life's a Beach

Joslyn's first trip to the beach did not start out well.  I decided today would be a great day to lock my keys, and everything else we brought for the beach, in my car for the first time ever.  For 45 minutes, we looked at the beach and the water from the parking lot and waited for roadside assistance to show up.  Once the car was unlocked, we finally headed down to the beach.  John tried setting up the "super easy" shade tent that I purchased this week and it turned out it wasn't so simple. It was like setting up a full size tent.  Joslyn and I played in the sand while Daddy cursed that stupid shade tent.  Then I tried setting it up for awhile and then Joslyn decided she wasn't liking the beach very much anymore and started fussing.  When she's tired and hungry, she's over whatever she's doing. It's time to eat and then sleep.  So we packed everything up and headed back to the car after a grand total of 15 minutes on the beach.  But I got a good picture and life is all about pictures, right?  When I see this picture years later, I probably won't remember the bad.  And John said at least we have a good story to go along with Joslyn's first trip to the beach.  Good thing we live all of 10 minutes away from the beach so we can try again, and this time I'll bring a sun umbrella. No set up required.
