Kids Live Here: Week 2

Baskets filled with toys in every color of the rainbow hang in our tub.

No matter how often I do dishes, there is always at least one cup in the sink.

Kids Live Here: Week 1

Before I had kids I said,
"Toys will be kept in their rooms"
and
"I refuse to buy colorful, plastic crap".

That didn't last very long.

Kids Live Here: A Photo Project

I'm admittedly a little OCD. Every thing in my house has its place and I would like it there at all times. I would vacuum my house every day if I had the time and I hate a sink full of dishes.  But with children, come all of their little messes. I'm working on letting go and remembering that one day I will miss the toys scattered everywhere and the dirty hand prints on the sliding glass door.  My house may be filled with plastic toys, tiny LEGO, sticky fingers and the sound of crying because of my children but it's also filled with laughter, drawings taped to the walls, dancing, singing, kisses for boo boos and hugs by little arms.  I would take all the bad of raising these little monsters for the little moments of good.

My very talented friend Carm challenged me to take on a photo project in the month of October. It's about capturing all of those kid-created messes in your home and those little things that are an undeniable sign that kids live there.  Here's her blog explaining more about the project. Join us in the fun!

Week 52: Emotive

The kind of reaction you hope for when you give someone a gift.  Uncle B scored with a Rapunzel Play-Doh set.

Week 51: Wild Card

It was a very Play-Doh Christmas.
